Abstract:The fossil plants dealt with in this paper were Collected from the sedimentary intercalations in the volcanies of the Repulse Bay Group, Hong Kong, including 28 species assigned to 17 genera. Among them 2 species are new. The flora contains some important and characteristic elements of the early Early Cretaceous in the world, such as Klukia browniana, Gleichenites nipponensis, Cladophlebis exiliformis, G. giesekiana, G. gladiatus, Cl. lhorongensis, Nilssonia cultrata
and Zamiophyllum bachianum. It seems unquestionable that the age of this flora should be assigned to the early Early Creataceous. The present flora is similar to those from the Caojiping Group of
Guangdong and the corresponding volcano-sedimentary rocks elsewhere along the southeastern coastal areas of China. The composition, the palaeoclimate and the phytogeographic provinces of the flora are also discussed.
