Abstract:A resin casting method for investigating apoplastic spaces of plant was intoouduced in this paper. A plant body contains a variety of important apoplastic spaces, such as the tracheary elements of xylem, the mesophyll‘s intercellular spaces that permit the diffusion of carbon dioxide away from stomata and secretory cavities. The study of the three_dimensional organization of such spaces has been greatly aided by scanning electron microscopy, But SEM can not be able to image internal part of a tissue or cell that are facing a cut surface, so samples are rarely observed in their entirety. By means of resin casting method, it should be possible to produce a lot of casts of tissue spaces and interal spaces of plant. Casts can be examined with SEM. Resin casting method is very important to the
study of structural botany.
