Abstract:This paper reports the recent study of the Late Triassic flora which was found in Hongli Vicinity of Baishan City, Jilin Provnice, China. The strata of the fossil Plants beating are the Xiaoyingzi Formation of the Late Triassic, which was mainly believed to be the Early Jurassic. This flora composed of 19 species belonging to 11 genera. According to the compositional character of the flora, the authors set forth their opinion that the flora should be a warm temperate flora. Baised on the appearance of Neocalamostachys peduncalalus ( Kon‘no ) Boureau, Cycadocarpidiun swabii Nathorst, C.tricarpum Prynada etc., the geological age of this fossil flora is doubtlessly of the Late Triassic and not of the Early Jurassic. In a careful comparison with other floras found from the Late Triassic of the
easter district, North China, the authors analyse the difference of the compositional ratio between every flora distributed in this district. Besides that every flora is located at different paleofloristic provinces, the authors think that the main causes brought about these differences may be the influence of the warm paleopacific ocean current and the local geological and ecological enviromnent.
