Abstract:From leaves of Rubus suavissimus, two minor ent-kaurane type diterpene glucosides were Isolated in addition to the major sweet principle, rubusoside. The bitter glycoside was identified as sugeroside which has been isolated from leaves of Ilex sugerokii var. brevipedunculata etc. The new glucoside named suavioside-A has a sweet taste and the structure was elucidated as 3α, 16β, 17-trihydroxy-ent-kaurane-17-0-β-D-glucopyranoside.
