Buxus chaoanensis H．G．Ye，sp．nov． Fig．1
Species floribus femineis inter stylos 3 glandibus pragditis insignis，B．cephaianthae Levi．
et Vant．var．shantouensi M ．Cheng afi nis，sed foliis obovato-spathulatis，crasse coriaceis，
nervis lateralibus utrinque obsoletis difert．Type：Guangdong，Chaoan Xian，in crevices of
rocks of valeys，alt．300 m．H．G．Ye 3 19(holo一，msc)．
Evergreen shrub，1 0-30(-40)cm high．Branchlet angulate，glabrous．Leaves opposite；
petiole l-2—m—m，papillose；leafblade thickly leathery，obovate to narrowly obovate，l—1．5 cln
long and(3一)4-7一mm broad，apex ro~&d，emarglnate，base cuneate，decurrent into a short
petiole，margin entire，~revolute；midrib raised on both sides；lateral nerves inconspicuous．
Inflorescence terminal an d axillary，capitate；rhaehis 4-6一mm long，puberulent，州 th l-2 pairs
of bract at base；bracts narrowly ovate-trian gular，1．5 —m—m × 0．6 —m—m，apex acuminate．Male
flower 5-6 in each inflorescence，subsessile；Sepal 4，trian gu lar-ovate，cymbiform，1．5-2—m—m ×
0．8 ram ；an ther C．1 ram ；filament fiat；reduced pistil small，style C⋯2 mm Female flower
solitary at apex ofthe inflorescence；petal 6，ovate，cymbiform，C．2—m—m × l—m—m，ape x acute，
ciliate；ovary ovoid，C．2．5一mm，州th 3 large glands among the styles；style 3 erect，C．1 ram；
stigma obovatc，2 lobed．Capsule ellipsoid，5-6—m—m long an d 4．5—m—m broad ，apex emarginate．
Flowering：April；fruiting：Aug．一Oct．

常绿灌木 ，高 1O一30(一40)cm。小枝具棱 ，无毛 。叶对生 ，叶片倒 形或狭倒 形 ，革
质 ，长 l—1．5 cm，宽 (3一)4—7 mil，顶端圆钝 ，微凹 ，基部楔 形 ，下延成短柄 ，两面无毛 ，边
缘全缘 ，反卷，中脉在两面凸起 ，侧脉不明显 ；叶柄长 l一2 mil，两侧具乳头状突起 。头状
花序腋生兼顶生 ，花序轴长 4-6 mill，被微柔毛 ；花序轴基部苞片 1—2对 ，狭 状三 角形 ，
长约 1．5 mil，宽约 0．6 mil，顶端渐尖 ；雄花 ：6-8朵 ，近无梗 ，萼片 4枚 ，成 2对 ，三 角状
巧 形 ，凹陷呈舟状 ，长 1．5—2 mill，宽约 O．8 mill，花药长约 l mill，花丝扁平 ，退化子房小 ，
花柱长约 2 mil；雌花 l朵 ，位于花序轴顶端 ，萼片 6枚 ， 形 ，凹陷呈舟状 ，长约 2 mln，
宽约 1．5 mln，顶端急尖 ，边缘具缘毛 ，子房卵球形 ，长约 2．5 mlTl，顶端中央具 3枚明显的
圆形大腺体 ，花柱 3枚 ，直立 ，长约 l m／n，柱头狭倒心形，2深裂 。蒴果椭圆形 ，长 5-6 mln，
宽约 4．5 mln，顶端 凹陷 ；宿存腺体顶端凹陷 。花期 ：4月 ；果期 ：8一lO月。
本种与汕头黄杨(B．cephalanthae var．shantouensis M．Cheng)相近 ，主要区别在于花
柱与子房顶端之间具 3个大腺体 ，叶革质 ，匙状倒 形。
A distinctive species，in many ways similar tO B． cephalantha Lbv1．et Vant．Var．shah—
touensis M．Cheng，differs mainly in hating three large glands among styles at the top of the
ovary，and thickly leathery obovate-spathulate leaves．
