Abstract:Bemisia tabaci (Gennadius) is an important agricultural insect pest and comprises numerous biotypes. Biotypes Q and B are most well-studied biotypes among them. The biotype B has invaded many countries and regions and erupted worldwide during the last 20 years and was considered as the most invasive biotype. Compared to biotype B, biotype Q has been a new harmful biotype during the recent years. On the basis of introduction of the phylogenetic relationship and gene flow between biotypes Q and B of B.tabaci, the population dynamics of the two biotypes and the influential factors were introduced. The purpose of the review was to explore the invasion mechanism so that the reference information of the two invasive biotypes was provided to help their control.
