Abstract:Plant iron deficiency is a problem due to its low availability in soil.Plant has developed two strategies to secure iron uptake named strategy Ⅰ and strategy Ⅱ,respectively.Strategy Ⅰ plants include higher plants except the gramineae, while strategy Ⅱ is mainly refers to gramineae. In the last two years, the research on the mechanisms of iron uptake and translocation in strategy Ⅰ has been made a great progress: FRO expresses not only in root but also in shoot and flower;IRT1 is the main Fe(Ⅱ) transporter in strategy Ⅰ plants;NA plays an important role in long distance translocation of iron. This article presents recent progress on iron uptake and translocation in the strategy Ⅰ plant.
