Abstract:In this paper, the nutrient characteristics of five kinds of aeolian sandy soils sampled from Yulin municipality of northern Shaanxi Province were studied Among these soils, moving, semifixed, and fixed aeolian sandy soils are formed under natural conditions, and cultivatedfixed, irrigatedfixed aeolian sandy soils are formed through artificial cultivation activities The results showed that with the increase of vegetation, moving dunes were gradually fixed, the nutrient content of surface soil gradually increased from moving aeolian sandy soil to semifixed and fixed aeolian sandy soil because the fine grains, which contain more nutrients, were not blown away at a large degree and the content of fine grains in soils gradually increased after vegetation cover improved The contents of soil organic matter and nitrogen decreased because of the accelerated mineralization of organic matter by human activities Meanwhile, application of phosphorus fertilizer made the available phosphorus enhance The irrigatedfixed aeolian sandy soil, the principal farmland in Yulin municipality, was intensively affected by artificial production activities The fertility of irrigatedfixed aeolian sandy greatly improved by irrigation and fertilization, so the soil nutrient content was higher than that of other soils
