Abstract:Studies have been made on the preliminary tests of the chemical constituents of cultivated and wildFructus Gardeniae on the comparative analysis of the thin-layer chromatograms,IR and UV spectra of 95% ethanolicextracts as well as extracts obtained with four different solvents,and on the content determination of gardenosides. Theresulto revcal that the cultivated and wild Fructus Gardeniae have similar chemical constituents ,but differ in the con-tents of some constituents.
