Abstract　The family Trichocoleaceae (Hepaticae)and genus Neckeropsis(Musci)are reported as new ad-
ditions to the bryophyte flora of Hong Kong , based on the species Trichocolea tomentella(Ehrh.)Dum.s.
lat.and Neckeropsis obtusata (Mont.)Fleisch.in Broth.

A detailed study on part of collectionsmade by the authors and Mr.Choi Kin-hung in a joint investi-
gation organized by the South China Institute of Botany , Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Kadoorie
Farm &Botanic Garden in 1995 in Hong Kong has yielded tw o new records , the family Trichocoleaceae
(Hepaticae)and genus Neckeropsis(Musci), based on the species Trichocolea tomentella (Ehrh.)Dum.
s.lat.and Neckeropsis obtusata (Mont.)Fleisch.in Bro th..These taxa are believed to be new to Hong
Kong as they are not listed in the updated checklist of bryophy tes of Hong Kong (Zhang &Lin 1997)and
So & Iwatsuki (1996)and So &Zhu (1996a , 1996b , 1997).The collecters , Pang -Juan Lin , Li
Zhang , Lawrence Chau , Wicky Lee and Choi Kin-hung , are abbreviated as LZCLT.The studied speci-
mens are deposited in the herbarium of the Sorth China Institute of Botany , Chinese Academy of Sciences ,
Guangzhou(IBSC)and the herbarium of the Kadoorie Farm &Botanic Garden , Hong Kong (KFBG).
1.Trichocoleaceae Nakai(Hepaticae)
The family T richocoleaceae was erected by Nakai in 1943.Grolle(1983)included three genera in
it , i.e.Eotricholea , Leiomitra and Trichocolea , and only the latter one occur red in China.Gao &Cao
(1988)recognized 3 species , i.e.T .merrillana Steph., T .pluma(Reinw .et al.)Mont.and T .tomentel-
la(Ehrh.)Dum.from China.Piippo(1984)combined T .pluma w ith T .tomentella s.lat .and she (1990)
included T .tomentella s.lat .and T .merrillana in her Chinese catalogue.Here we follow the treatment of Piip-
po(1984 , 1990)and report T .tomentella s.lat new to Hong Kong as well as the genus Trichocolea and the fam-

Trichocolea tomentella(Ehrh.)Dumor t.s.lat.Sy lloge Jung.Europ.Indig.67.1831.
Plant medium-sized , slightly g reenish to whitish , regularly bi-or tri-pinnate branched , more or less flat-
tened , forming loose turfs.Leaf insertion succubously transverse.Lamina(the basal undivided portion)1 ～ 4 cells
high , thick-or thin-w alled , oblong to rectangulate.Cilia patent from lamina , somewhat erect , 3 ～ 5 lobed near
the base , 5 ～ 8 lobed in the end.Cells of cilia cylindrical o r linear , thin-walled , hyaline.Without cilia on the sur-
face of lamina.
Specimens examined:Tai Mo Shan , LZCLT 2034 (on humus of tree base in forest , alt.680 m), LZCLT
2064(on rocks in fo rest , alt.550 m).A patch of the plant has been cultivated in the greenhouse of the Kadoorie
Farm &Botanic Garden.
Distribution:Chiua (Anhui , Guizhou , Hainan , Heilongjiang , Hong Kong , Shaanxi , Taiw an , Xinjing ,
Xizang , Yunnan , Zhejiang);Bhutan , West Irian , Papua New Guinea , Caroline Is., Samoa , Fiji , Europe , Japan ,
Indonesia , Australia and North America.
2.Neckeropsis Reichdt.
Neckeropsis , a genus of the family Neckeraceae , mainly dist ributed in subt ropical and tropical ar-
eas , with about 30 species worldwide.According to Redfearn , Jr.et al.(1996), 9 species occurred in
China.Here we report Neckeropsis obtusata as well as the genus from Hong Kong for the first time.
Neckeropsis obtusata (Mont.)Fleisch.in Broth ., Nat.Pfl.ed.2 , 11:187.1925.
Plant medium-sized , slightly dark green , f requently irregular branched , leaf apex rounded or oc-
casionally rounded-truncate , not acuminate , lamina usually asymmetrically shallow lingulate , undula-
tions 2 ～ 4 , costa reach mid-leaf , margins nearly smooth , auricles lacking.
Specimens examined:Kadoorie Farm , vicinity of the Main Offices , LZCLT 400 (on rocks in for-
est , alt.170 m), LZCLT 715 (on rocks by stream in forest , alt.160 m), LZCLT 721 (on rocks in
forest , alt.190 m), LZCLT 722(on rocks in forest , alt.190 m).

香港苔藓植物新纪录———绒苔科和拟平藓属

摘　要　研究了部分中国科学院华南植物研究所和香港嘉道理农场暨植物园于 1995年两次联合采集
的标本 , 本文报道了绒苔科和拟平藓属为香港苔藓植物新纪录 , 分别基于绒苔 (广义)和钝叶拟平
藓。
