Abstract:The antiinsect genetic engineering of plants provides a new way of controlling crop pests. In this paper, the progress of antiinsect genetic engineering of plants is reviewed, which includes the insect-resistance genes having been transferred into crop plants, the measures for improving the expression of insectresistance genes and the strategies of preventing or delaying the development of insect resistance in transgenic plants. In addition, problems to be overcome in antiinsect genetic engineering are suggested.
