Abstract:Many important commercial traits of plants are quantitative traits, and it is very important in plant breeding to locate quantitative trait loci (QTLs). In decade years, fast development of molecular biology, special molecular marker technique, and high-saturated genetic linkage mapping of many plant, benefit us in further study of quantitative traits. Recent advances in the studies of quantitative trait in crops in China are reviewed in this paper. Forty-seven examples of mapping quantitative trait loci in plants with the assistance of DNA molecular markers are enumerated. These studies provided insights into the numbers, types and effects of QTL and their relation to ecological environment etc. The problems of this field in China are discussed and its development is prospected.
