Abstract:The effects of different concentration of Hg2+,Cr3+ and Pb2+ on the membrane peroxidation (MDA) content and the activities of antioxidant enzymes(superoxide SOD, POD, CAT in mung bean in podding period were studied. The results showed that, under stress of Hg2+,Cr3+and Pb2+, the MDA content of leaves in mung bean increased gradually, with the increase of treating concentration, it shown a significant difference compared with control. The activity of SOD increased as the concentration increased under the stress of Cr3+ and Pb2+. The activity of SOD was lower than control under the low concentration(10mg/kg-soil) and moderate concentration(50mg/kg-soil) of Hg2+, but it was higher than control with high concentration of Hg2+. With the increase of concentration under the stress of Hg2+, the POD activity was first increased, then decreased and increased again. The POD activity decreased under the stress of low concentration and moderate concentration of Cr3+, while the it increased under the high concentration of Cr3+. As the increase of Pb2+concentration, the POD activity decreased gradually. The CAT activity increased under treatment of Hg2+ and Cr3+, but with the increase of treating concentration the CAT activity was in the partten of decrease-increase-decrease under the treatment of Pb2+. This investigation indicated that Pb2+ had aseriously ecotoxicological effect on mung bean.
