Abstract:In order to study the inducing effects of endophytic Bacillus subtilis strain EBT1 isolated from the banana on the growth and resistance to wilt disease caused by Fusarium oxysporum f.sp.cubense race 4 (FOC) in banana, the effects of the EBT1 culture filtrates on the buds multiplication and regenerated plantlets growth of ‘Taijiao 2’ banana (Musa spp., AAA) were investigated, and the resistance of plantlets to conidia and toxin of FOC was determined. The results showed that the additive 10% (v/v) EBT1 culture filtrate to medium could obviously increase the buds multiplication, plantlets weigh, pseudo-stem height, and resistance of plantlets to conidia and toxin of FOC with the enzymes activities increased for SOD, PAL, POD, PPO, CAT in plantlets. Among the whole course inducement (WCI), multiplication course inducement(MCI)and radication course inducement (RCI) with EBT1 culture filtrates, the WCI showed the best inducement effect on the increasing growth and resistance of plantlets, followed by MCI. The high enzymes activities was observed in plantlets from WCI after 1 d to 7 d treated with toxin, the maximum peaks of SOD, PAL, POD, PPO and CAT activities were 3.82, 1.18, 1.50, 2.70 and 1.52 times control respectively.
