Abstract:Soil samples were collected in forest ecosystem of Mt. Lushan, China. Soil solutions were obtained by extraction method and dissolved organic carbon was determined by Total Organic Carbon Aanalizer-5000 (Shimadzu). DOC contents and the relation to the vegetation activity and to seasonal dynamics were studied. The data of DOC lay in range of 289.85±111.04 mg·kg-1. High concentrations could be found in bottom soil besides the peak concentration in surface soil. Surface soil DOC concentration is higher under needle-leaf forest than under broad-leaf one, and higher in rooted zone soil than in un-rooted zone soil. Seasonal change of DOC concentration occurred with bigger contents in winter and spring. There was very significant positive correlation between the concentrations of DOC and of dissolved aluminum or of the ratio of monometric aluminum to polymetric aluminum.
