Abstract:Three elastic parameters(EL,μLR,μLT)of masson pine were measured byusing resistance strain gages.The results of the experiments show that(1)EL parallel to grain in compression can be measured by strain gages fixed onlyon radial surface(LR-plane).(2)There is a good agreement between EL andair-dry density.(3)A good estimate of the compliance can be obtained fromthe derived equations.
