Abstract:Based on the data collected from 43 sample plots and 60 sample points of a Populus davidiana forest in Song county, western Henan, the height-age curve of this species was obtained. The principal curve was smoothed through carefully regulating the height-age curve and the site index table was drawn up, providing the background for wisely managing and utilizing. P. davidiana forests in western Henan. The complete positive correlation was found between the above-ground individual biomass and D2H,and the experiential models were established which could be helpful for evaluating forest crops and investigating forest resources. The average annual above-ground biomass of P. davidiana forests in western Henan varied from 2200 kg·hm-2 to 3200 kg·hm-2 which could basically reflect the productivity of the forests in that area.
