Abstract:Material of genetic male sterility is a valuable species resources.This paper summarizes the progress in discovery, studying and application of genetic male sterility in maize. It briefly describes the location, cytological study and marker character of male sterility gene.Some problems and future reseach directions are pointed out in this review.
