Abstract:This paper reviewed the recent studies on MADS_box genes in archegoniatae. These MADS_box genes are strongly correlated with the identity, development and evolution of archegiatae reproductive organs. The expressive pattern and evolutionary of ABCD model of angiosperm floral organ development are different in the three phylums of archegiatae.The research results so far suggest that changes in the structure, expression and function of MADS_box genes are the cause for the identity, development and evolution of plant reproductive organs.
