Abstract:The present paper deals with the growth and life-history pattern of black Chinese sleeper, Bostrichthys sinensis. A total of 356 specimens were collected from the littoral waters of Zhanjiang during the period from December 1997 to May 1999, Which consists of 4 year groups, from age group Ⅰ to age group Ⅳ. The third actinost of pectoral fin was selected for age determination. The relationship between body length (L,mm) and radius of distal portion of the third actinost (R,mm) was expressed as L=6.1145+51.12...
