Abstract:Hyperspectral imaging techniques is a combination of both imaging and spectroscopy in a single instrument to acquire both spatial and spectral information simultaneously from an object. Hyperspectral imaging posses the ability of using intact samples (target object) with any shapes (either regular or irregular) and without any special preparation or pre-treatment, and thus has the potential of simultaneous qualitative and quantitative assessments of the sample. Tea contains a variety of beneficial ingredients for people and showed a high value of research and development in practical application. The detection principle of hyperspectral imaging techniques and the application of tea cultivation and management, pest and disease monitoring, production and processing, quality classification and so on is reviewed in this article. The deficiency in application and counter measure of hyperspectral imaging techniques are forecasted. Meanwhile, the further development of hyperspectral imaging techniques are forecasted. This review will provide a reference for promoting the refined development in tea.
