Abstract:A type of entomopathogenic fungus of Rhynchophorus ferrugineus Oliver was identified with morphological and molecular biological methods, including sporulation pattern, conidiospore characteristics and ITS sequence analysis. The results showed that conidiophores of the fungus were tubby and had 2-5 phialides on apex. The conidiospores were long oval or cylindrical, whose size was 4.8-9.3μm×2.2-3.1μm. The expected 558bp band was obtained by ITS universal primer amplification. The results of sequence analysis showed that the pathogenic fungus and Metarhizium anisopliae var. anisopliae were formed a subclade with a bootstrap value of 100%. Based on the above results, the pathogenic fungus of R.ferrugineus was identified as Metarhizium anisopliae var.anisopliae.
