Abstract:The erythrina gall wasp, Quadrastichus erythrinae Kim, is a new invasive important quarantine pest. It has been reported to damage Erythrina spp. seriously. In order to find out the method of quarantine treatment, the effects of the development and reproduction of erythrina gall wasp with γ-irradiation treatment were studied in this paper. The wasps were treated for 20 minutes with 0.05, 0.1, 0.2, 0.3 and 0.4kGy γ-irradiation. The results showed that the percentage of pupation and emergence were reduced notably. The adult longevity was shorted. Their mating times and fecundity were decreased with the dosage increasing. The wasps crawling out emergence holes were decreased with the dosage increasing notably. The percentage of mortality of male was higher than the females with same dosage of γ-irradiation treatment. The sex ratio was interrelated with the dosage of treatment.
