Abstract:The resistance of GK22 and Sukang103, two varieties of transgenic Bt cotton, to Ostrinia furnacalis were studied in laboratory. The newly hatched larvae and the 3rd instar larvae were reared with the different organs of different growth periods of GK22 and Sukang103 and their parents, respectively. The mortality of larvae of O. furnacalis in different growth periods of cotton was compared and analysis of variance of the mortality of larvae and average synthesis index of survival rate were tested. The results showed that the resistances of GK22 and Sukang103 to the larvae were much higher than those of their parents and the resistance of GK22 was higher than that of Sukang103. The sequence of resistances ability of GK22 and Sukang103 was the seedling and the square periods > the blossom period >the boll period. The resistance to the 1st instar larvae was higher than that to the 3rd instar larvae.
