Abstract:Effects of iron supply and different exogenous hormone (ethylene and cytokinin "6 BA") on iron remobilization and distribution in maize plants were studied with solution culture under controlled condition. Both of hormones were applied on primary leaves by painting. The results showed that senescence was accelerated and iron reutilization in roots was increased after application of exogenous ethylene to primary leaves, which lead to active Fe and Fe content of young leaves and its improvement of iron nutritional status. The active Fe content, total iron content of young leaves were enhanced by application of exogenous 6 BAokinin with growth of young leaves. The effect of exogenous hormone on iron distribution was adjusted by iron supply.
