Abstract:Pollinarium morphology of eleven species from seven genera of Marsdenieae(Asclepiadaceae)was examined under light microscope(LM)and scanning electronic microscope(SEM).The pollinia of Marsdenieae were erect or horizontal;the shapes of pollinia were usually elliptical,oblong,kidney-like or globose. The surface ornamentations of the pollinial membrane were smooth, sinuous, granulate or sulcate, especially that of Tylophora which was significantly different from those of the other genera. The caudicles of Gymnema and Typhora were small and less-developed while those of Dischidia and Gongronem were large and well-developed.
