夏凤兰 云南兰科一新种

摘 要：对兰科新种夏凤兰Cymbidium aestivum Z．J．Liu et S．C．Chen作了描述与绘图。此新种与冬凤兰Cymbidi．
um dayanum Rchb．f．相近，但花大，萼片长 4．2～4．8 cm；萼片与花瓣呈淡紫褐色 ；花苞片披针形，长 1～1．5 cm；唇
瓣中裂片长度约为其全长的3／s，故甚易区别于冬凤兰。

Abstract：Cymbidium aestivum Z．J．Liu et S．C．Chen，a new species of Orchidaceae from southern
Yunnan，is described and illustrated．The new species is akin to Cymbidium dayanum Rchb．f．，
from which it differs by the larger flowers with sepals 4．2——4．8 cm long，pale purple-brown
sepals and petals。lanceolate bracts 1—1．5 cm long and a long mid—lobe equaling 3／5 the length of
the lip．

The section Himantophylum in Cy mbidium is
a distinct and monotypic group，characterized by its
two cleft poilinia，narrow acuminate leaves，sharply
acute or acuminate sepals and petals and 2 strongly
grandular—pubescent lamellae on the lip．In the pre—
sent paper a new species，Cy mbidium aestivum Z．J．
Liu et S．C．Chen，is described belonging to this
section based on the plants collected by the senior
author in 2000— 2001 from southern Yunnan．Li—
ring plants were brought back and cultivated in our
nursery in Shenzhen．They flowered in last July
and August．The new species is quite distinct
from，but related to，Cy mbidium dayanum Rchb．f．
The flowers are rather large with sepals 4．2—一
4．8 cm long，sepals and petals heavily tinged with
pale purple-brown。floral bracts 1— 1．5 cm long
and mid-lobe equaling 3／5 the length of the lip．
These features are not found in Cy mbidium
dayanum．

Description：A lithophytic plant．Pseudobulb
subfusiform，slightly flattened，1．5——2．5 am long，
1．5—2 am broad，enclosed in leaf bases．Leaves 4—
8，lorate，thick—chartaceous，32——66 am long，0．8——
1．6 am broad，apple-green，acuminate at apex。mi—
drib elevated dorsally，articulated 3——6 am from the
base．Scape lateral，spreading horizontally or ar—
ching，3O一50 am long，with 5—6 sheaths at base：
raceme 1 0一to 1 3一flowered；floral bracts lanceolate，
1——1．5 cm long：pedicel and ovary 2．5——3．5 am
long，elongating at fruiting；flowers 4 — 6 am
across，not scented；sepals and petals whitish or
yellowish heavily tinged with pale purple—brown；
dorsal sepal with purple-brown veins；lip dark pur—
ple with a triangular—·lanceolate yellow-green cen—．
ter；dorsal sepal lanceolate or linear—lanceolate，
4．2— 4．8 am long，8— 9 mm broad。apex sharply
acute or acuminate；lateral sepals slightly narrower
and oblique；petals narrowly oblong—lanceolate，
2．8— 3．2 am long，7— 8 mm broad，apex sharply
acute；lip ovate-oblong，2．7— 3．0 am long，1—
1．2 am broad，below middle 3一lobed；side—lobes
semiorbicular，erect，weakly clasping the column；
mid—lobe ovate—oblong，recurved，1．6 —— 1．8 am
long，0．8——1．1 am broad：disc with 2 grandular—
pubescent lamellae extending from base to near the
base of the mid—lobe column dark purple—red，
1．3—1．4 am long，slightly arcuate；operculum yel—
low ，pollina 2，cleft．
Flowering period：From June to August in our
nursery．
Distribution：China，Yunnan(云南)，Mengla
County(勐 腊 县 )，Puweng(普 文 )，alt：1 500—
1 600 m，on mossy rocks in forests along valleys．
Notes：This new species is the second member
of the section Himantophyllum．It is akin to m—
bidium dayanum Rchb．f．，from which it differs by
having larger flowers with sepals 4．2——4．8 am
long，pale purple—brown sepals and petals，lanceo—
late bracts 1——1．5 am long and a mid—lobe equaling
3／5 the length of the lip．
