摘 要 :An ethnobotanical survey was carried out during 2002 in village Tigdari,district Swat,Pakistan.It revealed 86 species in 75 genera of 43 families occurring in this village.The important families were Poaceae (9 spp).Fabaceae (7 spp),Asteraceae (5 spp),and Lamiaceae (5 spp) which were followed by Rosaceae (4 spp),sixty four herbs,ten shrubs and fourteen trees were reported from the area.According to the local uses these plants could be classified as multipurpose tree (9 spp),timber wood (7 spp),fuel wood (15 spp),fodder (24 spp),vegetables (9 spp),medicinal (25 spp),religious plants saved to Muslims (5 spp) and Hindus (6 spp),wild fruits (7 spp),poisonous (8 spp),tool making (6 spp),condiments (4 spp),brooming (3 spp) and mud supported (2 spp),thatching (6 spp) and ornamental (5 spp),while ten species were listed in ethnoveterinary medicine used for the curing of eye diseases,wound healing,insect removal,throat infection,milk production,mouth diseases,fertility enhancement,and ache during pregnancy in domestic animals.Many of these species is going to be endangered and rare.Further study is,therefore,required to quantify the availability of species and to suggest suitable method for their conservation.
