Abstract:Four steroidal saponins were isolated from the fresh roots of Ophiopogon maglanthus. On the basis of chemical and spectroscopic analysis, they were proved to be iden-tical with prosapogenin A of diocin, deltonin, glycosied D and glycosied F, respectively.These saponins had ever been obtained from other species of Ophiopogon.
