Abstract:An ideal regeneration system from leaf of strawberry cultivar M14 was developed. 10.0 shoots per leaf disc were generated at the rate of 100% within 3 weeks. Histological observations indicated that the shoots regenerated mainly from calli. This regeneration system was used in genetic transformation mediated by Agrobacterium tumefaciens strain (EHA105) carrying the modified pMDG410 plasmid, which contains GUS and NPTⅡgene. Kanamycin_resistant shoots regenerated with the ratio of 14.5% were identified as transgenic shoots.
