Abstract:Plant dedicate a large amount of energy to the regulated production of
living cells programmed to separate from roots into the external environment. Root border cells play a vital role in protecting the root tip, and they have the ability to regulate the chemical and physical properties of the soil and balance the rhizosphere environment. It provided a way to genetically regulate plants
with altered border cell in quality and quantity. In this paper the current advances in studies on root border cells in plants are reviewed, including the production of root border cells, defense mechanism to root tip and the internal factors of cell occurrence.
