Abstract:he polypeptide synthesis in leaf of Panicum repens L. grown naturally in different habitats was analyzed using SDS-PAGE. Preliminary experiment indicates that the overall changes in polypeptide synthesis were relatively small, but the synthesis of a 30.6 kD polypeptide was enhanced in P. repens grown in sandy beach (salinity 1.5% ~ 3.0 % ) and that of a 130 kD pelypeptide markedly decreased. However, the content of the 130 kD protein increased in P. repens grown in sandy farmlands (salinity 0.1%~0.3% ), especially in water marsh (salinity 0.3 % ~0.5 % ).
