Abstract:A new diterpenoid alkaloid, hemsleyanaine (1), was isolated from the roots of Aconiturn hemsleyanum
Pritz. Its structure was elucidated as 8-aeetyl-14-benzoyl-ezochasmanine on the basis of chemical and
spectral evidence. Together with this new compound the known diterpenoid alkaloids, chasmanine (2),
indaconitine (3) and talatisamine (4), were isolated and identified.
