Abstract:Zinc is an essential element, affecting human health. Rice is the staple food of the world’s population, while the content of zinc in rice grain is very low, especially in the milled rice, it is very important to develop high zine rice. In the current paper, studies on high zinc rice were reviewed, including zinc differences among rice genotypes and its bioavailability, zinc enhancement through agronomic measurements such as fertilizer implementation, plant growth-promoting rhizobacteria infection, and breeding approaches such as conventional, induced mutation and transgenic breeding, which will provide references for production of high zinc rice.
