Abstract:By feeding Spodoptera litura with the fourth leaf from top of two transgenic double-gene cottons(Zhongmiansuo 45 and Zhongmiansuo 41) and Zhongmiansuo 23, effects of the transgenic cottons on larvae, pupae and adults of the pest were studied. The life table of an experimental population was established and analysised to evaluate the resistance. The results indicated that larval mortality of the transgenic cottons on the insect of the second instar feeding with Zhongmiansuo 41 was significant higher than on Zhongmiansuo 23, and the mortality of the rest of instar larvae, the period of larvae, the pupate rate of larvae and the rate of larva developed into moth of S.litura had no significant difference compared with control.The growth stage of hatched larvae and fifth instar larvae of S.litura feeding with Zhongmiansuo 41 were longer and shorter than that on Zhongmiansuo 23 respectively and the growth stage of fourth instar larvae and pupae weight fed on Zhongmiansuo 45 and Zhongmiansuo 41 were shorter and lower than that 基金项目:国家"十五"攻关项目(2001BA509B05),江苏省"十五"攻关项目(BE2001342) 作者简介:黄东林,男,1957年生,副教授,从事农业昆虫和害虫防治研究, email: yzudlh@126.com 收稿时间:2005-02-21 on Zhongmiansuo 23 respectively.While the growth stage of larvae, the period of pupae, mean preovipo- sition period, oviposition duration, mean fecundity and life-span of female adult had no significant differences. The net reproductive rates(R0) of S.litura feeding with Zhongmiansuo 45 and Zhongmiansuo 41 and Zhongmiansuo 23 were 186.8721, 236.7585, 264.2246 respectively; the mean generation times(T) were 45.6706, 43.2262, 46.8908 respectively; the intrinsic increase rates (rm) were 0.1145, 0.1265, 0.1189 respectively; the finite increase rates(λ) were 1.1213, 1.1348, 1.1263 respectively; the doubling times (DT) were 6.0537, 5.4794, 5.8297 respectively and index of population trend(I)were 237.70, 315.24, 319.28 respectively. In general, resistances of Zhongmiansuo 45 and Zhongmiansuo 41 to S.litura were not significant.
