Abstract:The effect of cations and anions in mineral nutrition compounds on methane oxidizing activity was studied in Marine fluvigenic yellow loamy paddy soil The results indicated that there were significantly different effects of various cations and anions at different concentrations on methane oxidizing activity in paddy soil Na+ had a stronger inhibition than K+ to methane oxidation in paddy soil NH4+ and NO2- could obviously decrease the methane oxidation for competition of limited O2 in soil Cr3+ had the bio toxicity to microorganisms, leading to the decline of methane oxidizing activity PO43- and CO32- had no notable effect on methane oxidation
