Abstract:Ethylene, one of the phtohormones, is an important regulater in plant growth, development and germination. Mineral elements have different effects on the synthesis of ethylene. Some elements are components of the precursors on ethylene synthesis, as S; some influence the activities of enzymes in ethylene synthesis passway as cofactors of these enzymes, as Fe, Co; others interfere with the ethylene prodution through the lipid peroxidation, as Cu, Zn, etc.. This paper describe the current advances in the relationship between mineral elements and synthesis of ethylene.
