Abstract:After reviewing the fertilizer development domestic and abroad, this paper discussed the development strategies, especially quality-oriented instead of quantity-oriented strategy, of fertilizer in China in the coming 30 years. It suggested that China should develop newly emerging fertilizers such as slow/controlled release fertilizer, bio-fertilizer, organic fertilizer, and multi-functional fertilizer and which should be the important directions leading our research in this field.
