nodeelongationcanbedividedintofourstages:meristematicstage,initialelongationstage,rapidelonga
tionstageandmaturitystage.Theresultsshowedthattheplasmamembrane,karyotheca,organelemem
branesystemalhadhighATPaseactivityatthemeristematicstage.Duringtheinitialelongationstage,
theplasmamembraneofthegroundtissuehadhighATPaseactivityintheupperpartoftheinternode,
whiletheshortparenchymacelshadhigherATPaseactivity.ThereisnoATPasedepositioninanycels
ofthebasicpartofinternode.Duringtherapidelongationstage,ATPaseactivityofgroundtissueinthe
basicpartofinternodewashigherthanthatintheupperpart,wheretheplasmamembrane,transportves
icle,intercelularspaceandplasmodesmaalhadATPaseactivity.Onlytheplasmamembraneofground
tissueintheupperpartofinternodehadlowATPaseactivityduringthematuritystage.Duringtheelonga
tiongrowthofinternode,ATPasewasmainlyrelatedwithsynthesisandtransportofnewcelwalmateri
als,whileATPasearoundthecrystalsandstarchgrainsoutermembraneplayedaroleinstoringmaterials.
Atthebasicpartofinternodewhichhadnodiaphragm,ATPaseactivitywasnotobserved,whilephloem
ganglionhadhighATPaseactivityinthenode.Thechangesofthestructurerelatedtomasstransportbe
tweeninternodeandnodewerecausedbythelossofdiaphragm,furthermoreinfluencedinternodeelonga
