Abstract:Following the theories of ecological comparative and plant community succession, this paper describes the population dynamics and establishment of mathematical models of growth of arrow bamboow stands on subalpine in Sichuan Province, based in observations of the number of new bamboos, ground diameter, age, density and biomass etc.The posibitity was discussed to provide giant pandas with imitated habitats through establishing plantations of arrow bamboo. The result also suggested that forest environments were not only critical for the survival of giant pandas but also for the establishment of arrow bamboo plantations.
