foreenteringthebloodsystemPreviousstudiesoftenlayemphasisonthecomponentsinbloodHowever,thedynamicandsequential
absorptionandmetabolismprocessfolowingmulticomponentoraladministrationhasnotbeenstudiedInthisstudy,theinsituclosed
loopmethodcombinedwithLCMStechniqueswereemployedtostudythesequentialprocessofChuanxiongRhizomadecoction
(RCD).Atotalof14majorcomponentswereidentifiedinRCDAmongthem,ferulicacid,senkyunolideJ,senkyunolideI,sen
kyunolideF,senkyunolideG,andbutylidenephthalideweredetectedinalofthesamples,indicatingthatthesixcomponentscouldbe
absorbedintobloodinprototypeButylphthalide,Eligustilide,Zligustilide,cnidilide,senkyunolideAandsenkyunolideQwerenotde
tectedinalthesamples,suggestingthatthesixcomponentsmaynotbeabsorbedormetabolizedbeforeenteringthehepaticportalveinSen
kyunolideHcouldbemetabolizedbytheliver,whilesenkyunolideMcouldbemetabolizedbybothliverandintestinalfloraThisstudy
clearlydemonstratedthechangesintheabsorptionandmetabolismprocessfolowingmulticomponentoraladministrationofRCD,soasto
