Abstract:The experimental result showed that physiological responses of winter wheat seedlings with different drought resistance to osmotic stress showed a similar tendency, for example, the increase of relative permeability, Pro and the percentage of Pro in total amino acids. There was a considerable difference in the range of changes among the cultivars. Under severe osmotic stress, the increase of relative permeability of the cultivars with weak drought resistance (Jinan NO.13, Yannong NO.15 and Lumai NO. 5) were more than that of the cultivars with strong drought resistance(Qinmai NO.3, Changle NO.5 and Shannong 587); but the increase of Pro and the percentage of Pro in total amino acids of the cultivars with weak drought resistance were less than that of the cultivars with strong drought resistance. There was highly significant negative correlation with the RWC and Pro accumulation.
