摘 要 ：果实和种子的发生与演化是植物系统演化的一个重要方面，果实和种子化石可以对地质历史时期植物的演化与发展提供直接的证据。本文在收集整理现有果实和种子化石资料的基础上，从果实和种子化石的研究历史、研究现状和趋势、研究方法及研究内容等四个方面对古果实学的主要进展作了综述，例举了近年来果实和种子化石的一些重要研究结果，并对今后古果实学的发展作了展望。鉴于古种 子学对古植物群、古生态和古气候等方面的重要作用，我国应进一步加强这一领域的研究工作。

Abstract:Based on revisionary studies of the fossil fruits and seeds records, this paper reviews the progresses in palaeocarpology from four aspects: (1)the history of studies on the fossil fruits and seeds of angiosperm; (2)the latest developments and future directions of palaeocarpology; (3)the methods of studies on palaeocarpology; (4)the research scope and significance of palacocarpology. In addition, several important research achievements in this field are introduced. Because palaeocarpology plays a critical role on the palaeobotany, palaeoecology and palaeoclimate, the investigation of fossil fruits and seeds is very important and needs more attention.
