Abstract:Microbial methylation of mercury in sediments from the JiYun River was studied. The results of our experiments show that microbial methylation is present in the samples from sediments polluted by mercury. The ability of microbial methylation is dependent on the condition of environment. The quantity of methylmercury was higher in the presece of nutrients added than without nutrients.
