Abstract:The effects of five species aphids, Aphis gossypii (Glover), Rhopalosiphum padi (L.), Chaitophorus populeti (Panzer), Hyalopterus amygdale (Blanchard), and Lipaphis erysimi (Kalteback), on development and fecundity of Harmonia axyridis (Pallas) were studied in laboratory. The results showed that the survival rate and net reproduction rate of H.axyridis fed on C.populeti and L.erysimi were 86.7%, 78.3% and 158.5, 271.7 respectively. The number of eggs laid per female was 1835 fed on L.erysimi and 1396 on H.amygdale. Intrinsic increase rate was 0.10-0.13 fed on the other four species aphids except for the lowest one (0.06) on C.populeti. L.erysimi was the most suitable food for development of H.axyridis among five species aphids.
