Abstract:Invasive weed Ageratina adenophora Sprengel has influenced the farming and forestry production seriously, and threatened the biodiversity safety of China, and has been spreading rapidly throughout southwestern China. Up to now, effective control methods to this weed are still very poor in our country. Therefore, it’s urgent to study the successful invasive mechanisms of this weed. Recently, more and more studies indicated that A.adenophora adopts allelopathic effect as a special invading tool to suppress and eventually exclude other plant species in plant community. Allelopathy research progresses of A.adenophora were reviewed, and their prospects were also discussed in this paper.
