Abstract:In order to determining the resistance of different cotton varieties to Apolygus lucorum Meyer-Dür and their mechanism, the resistance level of different cotton varieties to A.lucorum and the relationship between the content of cotton leaf chlorophyll and waxiness and the leaf thickness and the cotton resistance to A.lucorum were studied by using of resistance appraising in the net room and chemical material testing in laboratory. The results showed that the difference of the resistance of different cotton varieties to A.lucorum was obvious. The integrated resistance index of Shiyaxi 1 was 179.49, and the resistance reached high level. The contents of cotton leaf chlorophyll and waxiness and leaf thickness showed very distinct difference in different cotton varieties and different cotton growing periods. The contents of cotton leaf chlorophyll in seedling and budding stages and leaf waxiness in budding stage indicated the distinct positive linear correlation with the resistance to A.lucorum. The contents of cotton leaf chlorophyll in bolling stage and leaf waxiness in seedling and bolling stages and leaf thickness in all the cotton growing stages showed indistinct linear correlation with the resistance to A.lucorum.
