Abstract:Pot experiment was conducted to study the effect of four rootstocks [red tangerine+trifoliate (Citrus reticuiata Blanco+Poncirus trifoliata (L)Raf] and red tangerine + rough lemon(C.reticuiata Blanco+C. jambhiri Lush)somatic hybrids, troyer citrange [C. sinensis Osbeck×P. trifoliate(L) Raf] and swingle citrumelo ([C. grandis Osbeck×) P. trifoliata (L)Raf sexual hybrids] on growth and annual change of nutrients in leaf of two years old navel orange (Citrus sinensis Osbeck). The results showed that the rootstock of red tangerine + trifoliate was significantly superior to other rootstocks on growth and flowering amounts of navel orange, and the effect of red tangerine + rough lemon was in the middle between two sexual hybrids. Rootstocks did not influence the annual changes of N, P, K, Mg and Mn contents in leaf, but affected on Ca, Fe and Zn contents, and the effect of different rootstocks on nutrient contents in leaf was significant, at the same growing period. In this paper, the potential of two somatic hybrids were also discussed.
