sions.Sixteenprimercombinationswithclearbandpatternsandpolymorphismwereselectedfromthirty
sixprimercombinations.271lociweredetectedbysixteenpairsofSRAPprimers.Amongthem194were
polymorphic,thepolymorphicratewas71.59%,anaverageof16.94lociand12.13polymorphiclociwere
amplifiedbyeachprimerpair.Thegeneticsimilaritycoefficientof21pomegranateaccessionsrangedfrom
0.63to0.89,withanaverageof0.77.Anunweightedpairgroupmethodwitharithmeticmean(UPG
MA)treeestablishedfromJaccardsimilaritycoefficientssuggestedthat21pomegranateaccessionswere
clusteredintofivesubgroups.Theaveragevalueofobservednumberofaleles,effectivenumberofaleles,
Neisgenediversityindex,Shannonsinformationindexare1.7122,1.3528,0.1999and0.3105,re
spectively.TherewasrichgeneticdiversityamongthepomegranateaccessionsinKashiPrefecture.The
clusteringresultsusingSRAPmarkerswereconsistentwiththephenotypiccharacteristicsofpomegranate.
Sequencerelatedamplifiedpolymorphism(SRAP)isasimpleandeffectivemethodtoresearchongenetic
diversityofpomegranate.
