Abstract:Forty-four pollen speciemens from thirty-four species and subspecies or varieties of the genus Epmedium (Berberidaceae) were examined by means of election microscope. The result revealed that the exine ornamentation evoled from irregularly-arranged stiate with small tips to foveolate, foveolateireticulate, and to reticulate or striato-reticulate type, along with the reticulate tectum from having small tips on it to psilate. Its taxonomic significance among them is discussed.
